colocou a roupa mais bonita
e fico olhando pela janela,
todos os caminhos e trilhas
que vêem de encontro à minha porta...
Fico olhando porque você prometeu
vir um dia, ao entardecer,
antes que o Cruzeiro do Sul
fique de tudo visível a olho nu.
Sei que um dia virás...
Que cumprirás tua promessa...
Mas se não vens e o Cruzeiro do Sul fica visível.
Tenho a sensação de que são minhas lágrimas,
que acendem todas as outras estrelas.
Se um dia virem a Lua quase solitária no céu,
tendo como companheira apenas o Cruzeiro do Sul;
saberão que ele veio,
que eu não chorei e que talvez por isto,
nele não haja outras estrelas
no céu cintilando, azul.
